Modelling is a brilliant way of earning extra money, meeting new people and (sometimes) getting clothes and other products for free.
Here at People Pics we help our models by providing:

Your Portfolio Photos
The type of photos we will produce for you will depend mainly on the type of work you want to do and your personal preferences. We will make suggestions on both clothing and poses but the decisions will be yours alone. If you want to do fashion modelling for example, we would suggest photographing you in a range of clothing, including smart casual, scruffy casual, 'clubbing', formal and business clothes etc

What size should the photos be?
There is no 'standard' size, but they need to be big enough to see clearly and small enough to fit into model agency files - which rules out both snapshot-sized prints and pictures larger than 10"x8". Our own photos are 9"x6", and they are welcomed by all agencies.
A few agencies prefer to have portfolio shots on disk, but that's not a problem because we'll give you all your photos on disk as well, completely free.

Black & White or colour?
Most agencies now prefer colour, but some still ask for black & white. No problem, because you can have both.

How many pictures?
As standard, we will supply you with 40 prints and extras are available, if required, at cost price. And because we'll give you the disk you can also get extra copies made yourself, or you can send a copy of the disk direct to agencies.

We'll produce a 'real' portfolio for you
The best portfolio is one that evolves naturally, and over a period of time. What normally happens is that every time a model is photographed s/he asks the photographer for some prints, which then become part of the portfolio. The result is a portfolio of the model photographed at different times by different photographers wearing different clothes and in different places. This makes it easier to get work than a 'standard' portfolio produced in the average studio, where all too often all of the pictures look much the same.

What we do here at Model Heaven is to produce a portfolio that looks like the real thing and which gets a variety of totally different 'looks' out of everyone we photograph. We are able to do this partly because of our experience of many years, partly because our studio is far larger than most and allows us to use a lot of different backgrounds, partly because we have specialised lighting equipment (including a ringflash) and partly because we take the time and trouble to get it right for you!

Fashion modelling isn't just about the lucky few who travel to exotic places to model designer clothes! Commercial clients, who make more ordinary clothes also need and deserve the best photography and the best models to help them sell their products.

Clients choose the models who have the 'look' they need for their products. Except for very large jobs, they don't usually meet them first, they choose them by looking at their portfolio pictures.

That's why it's so important for you to get your portfolio pictures taken by an experienced professional who actually does fashion photography - we're the people who know how to produce the right kind of portfolio!
